Mark RappMark Rapp holds a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelors in Performance from Winthrop University. He earned his Masters degree under the tutelage of Ellis Marsalis and lived and played in New Orleans for 5 years then moving to New York where he lived and played for 9 years. Rapp has four records as a leader including his critically-loved debut Token Tales (2009), Braden-Rapp: The Strayhorn Project (2010) with saxophone great Don Braden and GRAMMY-nominated pianist Gerald Clayton ( and The Song Project's Art of the Song, vol.1 (2010) - an industry first "Applum" ( Rapp has played sold out shows at the Blue Note (NY), Joe�s Pub, Yoshi�s (San Fran) and such venues as Blues Alley (D.C.), the JVC Newport Jazz Festival, Dizzy�s at Jazz Lincoln Center, JazzTime Festival (Croatia), Jazzland (Vienna), Jazz Standard (New York) and more.

Joe Kaplowitz is an authority on the Hammond B3 organ. Growing up in Washington, DC, Joe was taught by the masters in gospel churches to back alley bars. Joe has performed with the likes of Eddie Daniels, James Moody, Wycliff Gordon, and Sean Jones and has shared the stage with David "Fathead" Newman and blues legends Koko Taylor and Lucky Peterson.

Derek Lee Bronston, an experienced New York based musician, has 7 records as a leader and co-leader, as well as, appearances as a sideman on many others. He originally came to NYC from Detroit in the 90's and has played with Cecil Taylor, Tom Harrel, Billy Bang, Branford Marsalis, The Hush, Mostley, Jerry Gonzalez and Dave Binney to name a few.

Klemens Marktl grew up in Austria and studied drums at The Hague, Amsterdam and New York with Carl Allen, Ralph Peterson, Greg Hutchinson, Ari Hoenig and others. He has toured and recorded with jazz greats such as George Garzone, Seamus Blake, Aaron Goldberg, Chris Cheek, Matt Penman, Johannes Weidenmueller, Barry Harris, Jesse van Ruller, Phillip Harper, Frans Elsen, Rick Margitza, John Swana, Rob Bargad, Kenny Werner and more. An accomplished composer and bandleader, he has three CDs out under his name.

Don BradenDon Braden is a our special guest saxophonist when available or requested. For many years he has toured the world leading his own ensembles, as a special guest, and as a sideman with greats such as Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, Roy Haynes, and many others. He has composed music for everything from duo to full symphonic orchestra, in many styles, for recordings, film and television, and worked several years as composer for Bill Cosby. He is also a world renowned educator, having spent over a decade giving master classes at countless schools and universites, and running first class educational programs such as the Litchfield Jazz Camp and Wachovia Jazz For Teens.
